1. What makes Tsurumi different from other submersible pumps?
In one sentence: Tsurumi builds for the worst conditions instead of the cleanest ones. On their trash and sewage pumps, the vortex or semi-vortex impellers move solids instead of getting wrapped up in them. The cast-iron housing is thicker than what I've seen on budget pumps, and the mechanical seal arrangement is designed to keep grit out of the motor chamber. That matters when you're pumping mud with rocks in it.
The cable entry is the other thing I check before buying any pump. On Tsurumi, it's sealed properly. On cheap pumps, water walks right into the junction box and you get a short.
